Having not posted recently i thought ill blog up a recent wedding.with alllloottta photos...its been tough trying to find spare time to do anything other than edit the last few months. As thishas been my first busy year with a fair fes weddings shot im really happy i kept all my clients up to date and recieving there images within on time :-)At this lovely wedding i had sir Greg of Thurtle second shooting with me. I always love getting a quick photo at sunset of the couple. it seperates the meal and evening party nicely. plus the light is much more fun to work with.

On this occation it was a perfect chance to have a quick first dance practice

and then they danced for real for all to see!

One Day i will keep this blog up to date.........The way things are going im just getting into the groove of having no time to myself, finnishing my 9-5 and cracking on with editing forgeting to update n showcase my work. Only to upload photos on Facebook where the quality is awfull.

So here goes..........Atempt number 100 to keep an up to date blog with my lattest weddings. So here my one iv just finnished off.

Iv known Gary & Jet for a fair few years now, with gary being a cousin of one of my best mates growing up. When asked to do there wedding photos i was dead chuffed as i knew how close they were and what fantastic people they would be to photograph on there day.

Wow and what a start for the year! It was a BOILING hot April Bank Holiday.

The venue was absolutly stunning in the sunshine. http://www.minterne.co.uk Minterne Gardens is so well Kept on a breathtaking landscape. I would definatly would love to shoot there again soon.

I had written out a massive blog going through the day but it failed to save so i shall keep this one short :) phew i hear you say.

Big thanks to Greg Thurtle for 2nd shooting with me. I have farrrr too many keepers n im looking forward to seeing all of his :). i think instead of a dvd vicky & simon may have to have a hardrive to fit them all on haha sooo many

Well the main reason for me not updating my blog of late is due to not really having much work on......which is kind of a good thing as its nice to have a bit of a break before crazy wedding season starts (of which i cant wait!)

lots n lots n lots of images to be taken this year so watch this space as i will be posting up for every shoot i do.

in the last month or so i have shot some landscapes......some bands......some more bands......a girl in a cold lake to.........trains to............family portraits to ...........Roller Girls.

It has been far too long since i had posted on this blog.......iv always got to remember to write on this thing. As my last post was the USA trip which was a few months ago you would think i had allot to write about. since iv recovered iv shot two winter weddings towards the end of 2010 and now in 2011 i have a FULL schedual of weddings so from April onwards this blog shall be busy busy once again.......

in the mean time. heres a few images from my past few months. more to come in the coming months as ill get back to writing about each of my projects :-)

San Francisco

Hello CA!

So we drove 12 hours south to San Francisco from portland.....wow what a drive.
We got recomended to go a uni town called Eugene so as we left about 1700 we decided to go for a few beers..... we got there about half eight nineish to find we werent allowed in anywhere without our passports.....due to nearly dieing of alcoholic thirst we went back 2 the car to grab them. With passports in hand we tried the local ale in 3 different bars, the last being the coolest looking metal bar you have seen your life.......but it turned out to be hip-hop night. eeeeeeeeep blinging rapper wannabee's walking around all gangsta and some awful drowning gangsta rap music.........all in all the night perked up when lex n jamie found the most drunk girl i have ever met. she provided mass of entertainment as we tried to
convice her we were a touring hanson tribute band from the UK.

The rest of the 10 hour drive was next on our list at the stroke of mid-night. i got about 2 hours or so down the road n couldnt handle driving anymore. so we pulled over at a big carpark n snoozed till 0600. and then
carried on the journey from there. The guys fixed there camera to the window of some of the driving and the mountains are actualy full on amazing! some of these were taken through the window...but kinda still work lol

This was a small little village. very cowboy n western feel to it :) we had a great steak here

a few stops latter n food breaks latter we arrived in a SUNNY san fransisco. Barb's Stuart Beautifull family home. WoW this house is amazing. it is just the other side to the golden gate bridge at the base of a nice range of hills.
They were perfect hosts for us and so very kind. we got all our washing done and got to sleep in mega comfy beds :-) and a veh cool dog called Tucker!

upon arrival onced showerd etc Stuart Kindly took us out to see some of the spots in San Fran. There i got some of the cliche shots of the bridge and alcatraz etc. it was more of a reccee for the next day where we hit up Lombard street
@ 0700. we beat all of the traffic so the guys can race down a few times, i think they got away with 5 times down until he traffic picked up. Local bin-man was called Gary. who was such a nice guy. but initialy shouting down the street
"you guys are crazy man!"

so here's gary! say hi gary everyone.

after the racing we decided to hit up the sights properly. we really wanted to see the alcatraz tour but unfortunatly t was booked up for 2 days solid :o( oh well. at least we got our tram ride in and a bit of shopping.... we were verylucky though with clear skys n no fog for the bridge on the first day :D so that more than made up for not goin on the tour.

after a long day down town we got back about 1700ish to shower up n head out to town. Brett (Stuarts Son) took us out 2 his old stomping ground in San Fran. we hit up the BEST little mexican kitchen ever. iv never tasted anything
quite like it soooo many yum random flavours and to this hour i still havnt felt it take its prescence through my gut ifyou catch my drift ;-) so yeah. we hit up some bars after that. one trendy one and another rock type bar. I found
Blackthorne on Tap but still tastes soo sweet. im sure the yanks put a crap load of sugar in there cider. We taught Brett some key english phrases like having a 'touch of a rapist' or 'sweating like a paedo in a playground' all quite
common for us but very ammusing for them :-)

we got home about 0220 to set our alarms for just before 0700 to leave for santa cruz and barbra. .......................errrm we got up about 0900 but luckily we didnt drink that much so no hangover.

Barbera & Lindsey very kindly cooked us up some steak to make some sandwiches for our trip....... for vegetarians these
guys cook the perfect steak. i cant even cook it that good :(

the guys in the Foreman household were too kind too us and it provide a great stepping stone on our trip. We head off
about just after 11 and were now on the road to Stuarts sisters place in Santa Barbera which is just outside of LA.

can anyone say....private beach on a ranch ? wooop wooop. skinny dipping naked surfin here i come! haha

oh dear i wonder if they know what they have let thereselves in for.

oh ya., we hit up the bridge again n got some great shots of the guys posing n doin there thing. as you can see
we have been lumberd with heavy rain all the time :D:D:D:D hahaha not

With all of this traveling and fitting everything in im not surprised why it has been hard to do regular blog updates.
having a spare 30 mins each day isnt quite enought to go through 100s of photos. so im getting to the stage now where i
will be taking the ocational pic from each session n editing the rest at home.

anywho. im off to go back up some photos n edit some for this post.

Seattle Then Onto Portland

Right then our last day in seattle saw us get up early ,yes we didnt get smashed the night b4 as we ate the greasiest half pounder burger in a yank bar listenin to
a cool blues/jazz band! ooooh n it was amaaazing. so ya we got up early to get a look at the seattle skyline for a quick photo before we left for Portland!

it was about nearly a 3hr drive down to portland with stops. on route we got a jack in the box. it was sooooo nice. it totaly kicks
the ass out of mcdonalds.

so the 12 hour trip started!

Dee, on old online friend is at portland so she kindly sorted out a night out for us. considoring it was a tuesday night we had such an amazing time!
we hit up a few pubs after booking into a sleazy hotel/motel place. 6-10 beers latter we went to portlands famous "voodoo dohnuts" its a real small
dohnut shop which is open 24 hours! and OMG im not normaly a huge donut fan but they had everything. we all obviosly went for what there best known for.
the maple bacon dohnut...........................i was eating it thinking why do i like this?????????? this is sooooooo wrong hahahahah
but yes. it was amazing

we woke up the next day with our sore heads and went off riding 2 parks, the famous 'burnside' which is located under the freeway. rode there for an
hour or so before we got kicked off by the local skaters. well......they were all cool until one guy turned up n said no bikes allowed. oh well.
thats the joys of riding other ppls turf... the gayers lol. we then went for my first trip to hooters. the guys already have been 5 times haha.

after food we drove to pier park skatepark, this had a FULL pipe, n looked so good. i dont personaly ride but you can tell it looked fun to ride.
the edge of the bowl u can see is 11'5ft n thats huuuuuuge, i had fun getting out of it after taking the photos ahhahah beached whale much

lex n jamie got some video of them too so im lookin forward to seein that footage again.

a hungover dee then tracked us down n we headed out to grab some coffee at a old school house that has been converted to a bar restraunt and hotel! it was
really well decorated n aparently a chain!?

after coffee n more food we went to see some local skate shops and some reeeally cool local design cloth shops. i bought a wicked tee., :-)
i nearly bought sarah some cloths today but decided she wouldnt like a hooters teeshirt . nor a spray can skull design either. :D

we finnished up in portland with meeting Dee's parrents in town. its crazy knowing of someone for soo many years and finaly meeting them.
We gotta say a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge thanks for Dee n the girls for showing us a great time! ill be definatly coming back to Portland one day!!!!

im now writting this on the way to SAN FRANCISCO! 15hr road trip....ouch. gnna be a craaazzzyyy drive as it is now 1930 haha oh well.a vast amount of Gatorade
shall be drunk!

roll on san fran n roll on LA san diego n VEGAS! i think i have some money left..........i dont want to check my account. i havnt been doin bad actualy

probably averaging 60 bucks a day.

Seattle Day 2/3

went out on my first proper night with some hostel ppl (us 3. another bristolian student, n three yanks) turned out to be an amazing night - they dont really drink at all tbh. it bank hol weekend n we went out at 10pm and EVERYWHERE shut at 2am. we went to one place...iit was like a proper american bar. n had like 20 pinball machines. was so random.

as i was drinkin all day i spent a fair bit, spesh when i saw they sold strongbow that was obviosly after tryin the local lagers of course :D

The next day (yesterday) we headed to a a local dirt park... it was really nice. it was all made so well under a freeway. tis a shame the uks councils help build these things.

so heres my first lot of riding pics. its good to get back into shooting this stuff. i havnt for quite a while so the first lot of photos will be pretty naff lol :)

i arrived in Seattle n lost my phone....nearly lost my wallet. met some awesome ppl in bars too so thats cool. earlier i was enjoying happy hour. which means half price appertisers (ie bufalo chicken wings etc) and a dollar off draft beers which meant 3/4 of a pint for $2.50. 6 beers latter n 6 wings n two games of american football. Jamie found me in the pub. n now im sat in the hostel ready to go out n eat and drink. the hostel has a night out tonight at 10pm so no doubt we will up some bars.

the trip is young. but so far so good!

i got off the train and smelt a smell i recognised. oh look. the first shop i walk by in america is pooles very own

Hayz & Dave @ Chard Somerset

About a year ago i got an email from a young lady asking to shoot her wedding on recomoendation from one of her friends i have shot before. As she enjoys to travel with her other half, Hayz done all of our communication through email. The day was prepared with allot of help from her mum back home (here) and equal amounts of frustration and enjoyment im sure over in NZ where she is now settling down.

This all said. you wouldnt have known the logistics involved in creating this day. it ran so perfectly - and atmost credit to the venue and the organiser for the day. everyone looked like they had so much fun.

My particular highlight was seeing the scrapbooks Hayz and Dave have made on there travels. there were a number of them on display and each one full of memories. i am proud to know my photos will accompany litle notes that were written by the guests on the day to join my photographs in there scrap book of there wedding

ps i nearly didnt mention the boquet that was left in the limo when hayz got out..........hmmm poor limo man having to detour back to the venue :D

The legend that is Greg Thutle (http://www.Thurtlepower.com) 2nd shot for me on this one once again. its such a pleasure shooting with greg - we both have the same sad sad sad sense of humour and we managed to work to a point where the end product of our work contrasts to make a fantastic unique wedding album..... well......I think so anywho :o)

now on with the photos....if you are reading this far it is. im off to Yankland in about 1 hour 45 mins with half a bag packed so i best stop rampling on and post some photos.

i could talk about this wedding for hours but i wont.........

ok mayb a lil bit more. the dress was made for the bride by a small design (from the bride) of which made a great touch with a pearl theme of which the bride wore here g/parrent pearl neckless. The groom had the most pregnant best man iv ever seen..... and the First dance was something very special. it has been very popular doing something different with the first dance. but these guys knocked it out of the park, and took it to the next level. kudos Hayz & Dave for a Perfect day!!!

Emma & Tom's Wedding @ Harbour View Hotel Christchurch

Friday the 13th..........who the hell would book a wedding on this date.

haha

if that is what you were thinking then, you wouldnt be alone. im not that supersticouse and obviosly nor are Tom & Emma who had the pick of ALL of the hotels in Dorset & Hants with this date. Its pretty genius actualy..... i dont think they had many hassels with friends and familys with clashing dates thats for sure.

Emma found out about my work through some meutral friends. Being a tattooist she draws on allot of them ;-) and luckily my friends pointed her in my dirrection. With my experiance with Music promotional work Emma & Tom were happy enough for me to use my creativity on the day as i wished. I felt happy to be hired on the basis of what i have done in the past in another form so i was dead looking forward to this date :D

with a 100+ guests and very comfortable couple in front of the camera this lead to a fair few photos taken. so i tried to just upload a couple into my blog for this day but i couldnt keep the number down so call this a WARNING...........this page may take a while to load up haha. so grab a cup of tea n let it load up :D or just close this window and go back to your farm on facebook. :-) hehe

The Day started with me turning up farrr too early (no traffic) so redbull was drunk n kit triple checked and i met Emma who was just finnishing up doin her hair and make-up in her room. oh and eagerly waiting to put on her dress :-)

So then it was time for all hands on deck..oh i mean bride

having time to do a quick portrait before the service once dressed is a blessing.

Tom was oh so smartly dressed to though :-)

The Kiss went on for so long i had time to get two angles on it......win for me. oh and Tom :D

Once the service was over we went outside where it looked like the heavens was about to open any second. we were all very lucky as it held off for just enough time to grab some group shots of the 2 familys and the big large shot of everyone!

I managed then to steal the bride and groom for 20mins to get some couple shots overlooking the harbour. This was where i could test out my new Trisync Flash holder. Big thx for Greg for being my lightstand :D

Then we had the Reception & Speaches, Plenty of bubbles

and plenty of laughs too thanks to the best man!

The cake perfectly matched the brides boquet and i believe it was "Death by sponge"

The party carried on after into the garden (i think i need to work on my ninja moves - i keep getting spotted)

and once the evening guests started to arrive the disco got going downstairs....
I snuck the Bride and groom off once again at sunset to grab some evening shots by the bench and water. (it was also a great time to grab some fresh air too :)

The first dance was followed by a preformance by local rockers "Lady Winwoods Maggot"
The party was lively beforehand but these guys just took it to the next level.

If i had to pick one photo to some up the day for me it would be this one.....

Everyone who attended the day made it amazing. such a atmosphere all day!

Cas & Izzy July's Lulworth Castle Wedding

Cas & Izzy first contacted me explaining how they wanted a laid back service and party for there wedding letting things run in a relaxed manner in a beautiful setting

being told i may be 'horizontal' with the relaxed aprouch to my weddings i thought hey im your guy, so fastforward to July 2010 @ Lulworth Castle.

First off i went along to the Kemps Hotel just 5 mins from Lulworth, where Izzy was getting ready with all her girls.

Upon arrival to the church i met up with my 2nd shooter for the day Greg Thurtle, Its always a pleasure shooting a wedding with greg, he's a true gent *cough*..... sometimes he does needs to be kept on a short lead though. haha

The day got off to a somewhat....entertaining start. put it this way.....iv never seen a best man arrive after the bride before. Not planned i may add, im sure the bride can tell you!

But after a delayed start the day got into motion and everything ran so very smoothly

After the Ceramony we headed across next door to the Castle Gardens for Drinks, nibbles and some group shots.

After a nice hour or so in the sun i managed to sneak the Bride & Groom across too the front of the Castle to grab some shots (and to also let them get there breath back)

Food was then followed by the speaches & the cutting of the cake..........

Once everything was finnished in the food hall everyone moved to the bar nextdoor and the dance hall where the shapes were indeed cut! but..... i wont be showing them photos (i think i should let the bride and groom bring them to the internets at there own discretion, haha)

Im sure by the end of this perfect day everyone there enjoyed themselves......not as much as this young lady mind :)

I Bought a trisync for my trip to yankland next month.

as ill be shooting allot of bikes with plenty being in the cali/vegas/san fran sunshine. y not have a lil fun n try to beat the sunlight!

haha. either way. it saves taking a more bulky powerfull light.

one sync port to worry about. plus mass use of rechargable batterys.

Today i went to Monkey World for a lil bank holiday trip. it was okish weather even though a lil cold............ all the monkeys were hiding first of all inside but later on it brighten'd up so allll came out to play :-)

My first Wedding this year came in April. A very sunny saturday in fact :-) anyone familiar with the local music scene to Bournemouth may recognise the ol'clams in a few shots and obv Rich being the groom and now playing with Neon Tigers.

Big thanks to Greg Thurtle for being my No 2 shooter for the day. he's such a pleasure to shoot with.....def a 'prime' ninja with the candids. The Day was really nice and relaxed and everything went perfectly to plan! Rich & Victoria make a fantastic couple and i wish them many years of happiness.

Jono Sheeley from Martha Beck asked me along to this show in soton on a fri night.......n as it was in a small pub with no room to move i thought...why the hell not! all in all it was a great show. the music wasnt exactly my cup of tea but any music of which people put shit loads of heart n energy into is ok in my books.

(Hed) PE Southampton & Poole Shows

Right then...............this is only a lil run through of what i remember from both nights condensed into one and im Definatly not one for reviewing shows due to i have as much musical tallent as a one day old rhino....... but hey - i thought i would write about my experiances at both shows i attended off of Hed PE's uk tour...

First off was the show at "Chords" the new'ish music venue situated in Poole. The venue itself hasnt change much from its predicesor. but it now seems like it has the same ambition.

My first experiance of Chords was pretty awfull. (Kittie show, earlier this year) having to wait outside in a que while th warm up act Maniacal edge started to play to an empty room. But wait.......this time they let people in before the show started :-) ........win

M-Edge started off the show again to a reasonable sized crowd. Im still not sure if im completely sold by this band. but they are definatly worth seeing - i look forward to seeing them evolve more and away from Dorset a bit more and tear up some big city scenes. its a nice break to have a new metal band different to the same old drivel hardcore scene has churned out of the past few years................which leads us nicely onto.......

Attila.........eeerm yes. im goin to pass comment on this band and let u look em up on youtube .

if you like them - good for you. each to there own i say :)

So then....Enter Hed PE

Both shows i saw were identical (as expected from a large Euro Tour) But both giving off different vibes. Both Crowds were imense. the Maddest being Southamptons Talking heads by far.......... The band followed a strict setlist even reminding the crowd halfway through the set there not a Jukebox collection for everyone to pick and choose. there playing what there playing ...end of. The Soton show ran into some Tech problems mid set with a crackling mic of which the band stormed off stage..... Sound issues were then rectified with a replacment mic and everthing was forgoten by the time the first chord of "bartender" was played.......

iv been to some sweaty gigs in the past..............and talking heads always is def up there with the hottest........

in conclusion. amazzzzing times was had by all on both nights................and yes it was a shame that half the presold tickets bought was for the act that couldnt support Hed PE but shhhhh we dont really wann talk about that......(im still upset)

oh and if your still reading this ? then poor u ...u must be bored haha

Oh and can i add. any band with the small international success over th years Hed PE have had and still know its all about the fans after the gig n hang about n chill out, is alright in my book!!

I had a shoot with newly formed 'Neon Tigers' in a small record store in Wimborne the other week.

These are local lads Formed by Richard Peacock. Soon to be gigging ill be definatly catching some of there shows!

I managed to finaly use my white paper background roll! I really need a studio so i can keep my lights up and background etc ...........hmmm one day! lol

So my last wedding of the summer was in the mega small chuch in West Moors. The sun was shining down hard n was a reeeal nice day :-). the after party was at canford Golf course which looked awesome in the evening sun!

I turned up at this gig thinking i was early on a friday at 4pm. to find the second band already on and everyone looking tipsy already. haha so then it dawned on me people were here from 1pm-2pm. alls good i thought, i still had a fair few drinking hours to go.

The lighting wasnt too good but i as there is a white cieling - flashgun it was. as i had to free up my drinking arm i had the flash mounted :-P
